LYNNWOOD - City Councilman Jim Smith has been cited for drunken driving.
Smith, 48, was stopped by Lynnwood police early Friday morning after failing to stop at an intersection. Smith failed several sobriety tests and the officer smelled alcohol on Smith's breath, the police report said.
A Breathalyzer test listed Smith's blood-alcohol level at .13 percent, police said. People with blood-alcohol levels of .08 percent and above are considered legally intoxicated.
Smith was released after several hours in police custody. A hearing for his case has not been scheduled. A drunken-driving charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Lynnwood, Snohomish County man held in 15th DUI arrest

A 51-year-old Lynnwood man accused of rear-ending a car and then fleeing from troopers in North Seattle on Saturday has been arrested a 15th time for investigation of drunken driving, the State Patrol said.
On Friday, a Seattle municipal court judge set a $10,000 arrest warrant for Castle for failing to appear in court the day before. Castle is pending trial in Seattle on charges of drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving with a revoked license. Seattle police arrested him in September 2006.

'09 Super Bowl lands 125 DUI arrests in King, Snohomish, Skagit and Island Counties
According to the statistics provided by the Washington State Patrol, State Patrol troopers on Super Bowl patrol arrested 125 drivers suspected of drunken driving Sunday night and Monday morning.
That compares with 75 during the same period the previous week.
In 2006 when the Seattle Seahawks competed in the Super Bowl, the Patrol says there were 128 DUI arrests

King County trooper charged with DUI in Pullman, Washington

What happens in Pullman obviously doesn't stay in Pullman.
A State Patrol trooper who works in King County is on administrative leave after being charged with drunken driving near Washington State University earlier this month.
Casey Myers, 26, was arrested for DUI shortly before 3 a.m. on Oct. 9, according to the Moscow-Pullman Daily News. According to the newspaper report, Myers was stopped by Pullman police for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Seattle cop who shot attorney in '06 melee charged with DUI

A Seattle police officer who shot a local attorney after being attacked by a group of men in downtown Seattle three years ago was arrested last week in Grays Harbor County and charged with drunken driving.
Officer Zsolt Dornay, 40, and his 33-year-old brother, Dustin Dornay, were arrested just after midnight on July 26 on suspicion of driving their motorcycles in Ocean Shores while under the influence of alcohol, according to the State Patrol.
