Port Orchard Mayor Lary Coppola has been approved for a program that would reduce a drunken driving charge to negligent driving, if he avoids any violations for two years. The Kitsap Sun reports Coppola accepted the pretrial diversion Thursday while pleading not guilty in Pierce County District Court to the DUI charge.
