Anacortes Skagit County DUI Attorney: Extra DUI patrols to hit the streets
Local law enforcement agencies want to remind potential St. Patrick's Day revelers that they should celebrate safely.
With one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year approaching next week, representatives of several agencies said they will be conducting extra emphasis patrols on St. Patrick's Day and the weekend following this year, hoping to prevent serious or deadly crashes.
Sgt. Jennifer Sheahan-Lee of the Skagit County Sheriff's Office said law enforcement officials will be out in the afternoon and evening hours and recommend that people plan ahead if they are going to drink.
Last year's patrol led to nine arrests in the period around St. Patrick's Day. One of those arrests came at 11:45 a.m. the following day, Leary said.
