Seattle King County DUI Attorney:  SPD Officer Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Light Pole

SEATTLE -- A Seattle Police officer was seriously injured after swerving crashing into a light pole early Sunday morning.

The Seattle Police Department said one of its officers was working on DUI emphasis patrol heading to the East Precinct on a back-up call at about 12:30 a.m.

The officer was driving at the intersection of 4th Avenue and University Street when he swerved to avoid hitting a taxi cab, crashing into a light pole.

The officer was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

Traffic collision investigators were called to the scene of the crash. Police continue to investigate the incident.
