Snohomish County DUI Information: Quashing a Bench Warrant

In Snohomish County, Washington, if you have missed a court date, either for arraignment, pre-trial, confirmation, trial or a probation hearing (Failure to Comply – FTC), it is more than likely that the judge will issue a bench warrant for your arrest.  You definately do not want this to occur, but if it does you must then take care of it immediately.
First advise, call your attorney!  If you do not have one, call one and ask for their advise.  My office also talks to people for free, so call us!
Second,  call or contact the court.  Due to budget cuts it is now difficult to actually get hold of  person, but try.  It is more likely you'll actually talk to a real person if the court is a municipal court and not a State court.
Third, act!  Depending on your case and your history with the court, you may be able to quash the warrant administratively (ie. go to the court and pay some money), be placed in front of a Judge and have the Judge quash the warrant (after you explain yourself) or lastly, you may have to set the matter on a motion calendar for formal presentation.
Either way, get it done and get it done quickly.
