A 33-year-old mother was being investigated for vehicular assault and DUI after a crash near Northgate Mall. Troopers say Shannon Beatty was trying to pass a Chevy Blazer on the onramp to I-5 North from Northgate Way, but was unable to stop and crashed into the back of the Blazer, causing the Blazer to roll over. Beatty, her 6-month-old daughter, and the driver of the Blazer were all taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. There was no word on their exact conditions but troopers said the infant was not seriously hurt.
