A week ago, 20 Pierce County law enforcement officers stopped 256 motorists for unsafe driving in Puyallup. This week, 18 of these drivers, arrested during the March 13 DUI emphasis patrol, face stiff penalties for driving while impaired.
Penalties include jail time, vehicle seizure, driver's license suspension, ignition interlock installation, drug and alcohol assessment, increased insurance rates, probation, and payment of substantial fines and attorney fees.
