Anacortes, Skagit County Criminal Defense Attorney: DUI driver hit curb then hit with DUI
In Anacortes, Skagit County on December 27th an Anacortes officer saw a vehicle leave a parking lot in the 400 block of O Avenue at a high speed around 2:10 a.m. The vehicle turned sharply and crossed into the oncoming lane and then overcorrected and nearly struck the curb. The Anacortes officer followed the vehicle onto Eighth Street where it again made a sudden turn and struck the curb.
The Anacortes officer approached the car and smelled the strong odor of intoxicants. When asked where she was going, the driver, a 22-year-old Anacortes woman, stared for a long period and said "here." She had watery, bloodshot eyes and slow reactions, and showed confusion when asked for her license and other documents. The woman performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested on a charge of DUI. She provided breath samples almost three times the legal limit. She vomited several times at the Anacortes police station before she was released to a sober relative.
