King County DUI Attorney: Sammamish Police DUI Blotter

Saturday, June 18

DUI: Police arrested an 18-year-old Sammamish man for driving under the influence after he was pulled over for speeding and driving erratically near Southeast 4th Street and 220th Avenue Southeast. When police contacted the man he said that he had been adjusting his stereo and denied drinking. Police smelled intoxicants and continued to question the driver, who eventually admitted to having been drinking and smoking pot earlier. The man volunteered for a Breathalyzer test and blew a .048.

Tuesday, June 21

Accident DUI: Police arrested a 45-year-old Sammamish woman for driving under the influence after she was involved in a two-car accident at the intersection of Northeast 8th Street and 228th Avenue Northeast. When police spoke to the woman, she appeared lethargic, sluggish and out of it and was swaying back and forth. The woman failed field sobriety tests, blew a .050 on the Breathalyzer. The woman was transported to
Overlake Hospital Medical Center for blood tests and was later released at home.

Wednesday, June 22

DUI: Police arrested a 45-year-old Sammamish man for driving under the influence after he was pulled over for speed (47 mph in a 35 mph zone) near Southeast 37th Place and Issaquah-Pine Lake Road. When police contacted the driver they smelled intoxicants. The man admitted to having been drinking beer earlier and volunteered for field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer test. The man failed the field sobriety tests and blew a .099. The man was later transported home and released.

Friday, June 24

DUI: Police arrested an 18-year-old Sammamish woman for driving under the influence. She was pulled over for speeding and driving dangerously near Northeast Inglewood Hill Road and 228th Avenue Northeast. When police first spoke to the woman they smelled intoxicants and noticed that she was extremely nervous and had blood-shot, watery eyes. The woman denied drinking and volunteered for a Breathalyzer test and field sobriety tests. The woman blew a .114 and failed the field sobriety tests. She was taken into custody, transported to Issaquah Jail and later released to a friend.

DUI: Police arrested a 46-year-old Sammamish woman for driving under the influence after she was pulled over for making a dangerous left turn in front of a police car. Police reported that she nearly caused a collision near Northeast 6th Street and 228th Avenue Northeast. When police contacted the woman they smelled intoxicants and noticed her slurred speech. The woman admitted to drinking and initially declined to take field sobriety tests or a Breathalyzer test. Police then took the woman into custody, which she briefly resisted. Desperate to be released, the woman volunteered for a Breathalyzer test and blew a .272. The woman continued to beg to be released, saying she had children at home. The woman was eventually transported home and released.
