SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. -- Two people were injured in what troopers believe was an alcohol-fueled crash on Wednesday night.
The accident occurred on State Route 9 at Mosier Road at approximately 9:39 p.m.
Trooper Keith Leary said an Oldsmobile Alero headed north on SR 9 was trying to make a left turn onto Mosier when it was rear-ended by a Toyota Prius.
Both drivers had to be extricated form the mangled mess. A 40-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, both residents of Sedro-Woolley, were transported to Skagit Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
The man who was driving the Toyota is now under investigation for vehicular assault.
